The Society publishes The JOURNAL three times annually. The JOURNAL is a must for anyone researching their heritage in the state of Maryland. It includes over 500 pages of historical and genealogical material, family charts from personal and public record collections, transcribed public domain records, letters to the editor, queries and answers, plus a complete index and much more.

Submitting Articles to The JOURNAL

The Editorial Staff invites members of the Maryland Genealogical Society and the general public to submit for publication documented material on Maryland families, church records, county source records, or other genealogical material pertaining to Maryland. Any material submitted should be typed, double spaced, with references within the text of the article or listed at the end of the article. Electronic submission by disc or e-mail is especially welcome.  The Editor, the Editorial Staff and the Society assume no responsibility for errors of fact, or opinions expressed or implied by the contributors, although proven errors will be corrected. Material for publication should be sent to the editors at the above address or as noted on the Contact page.

Publication Deadlines for The JOURNAL

In order to publish an advertisement or article, the editors must receive an acceptable copy of the article by the following dates: January 31 for the April issue  May 31 for the August issue  September 30 for the December issue
